Guava Nexus Seedbox — MVP Definition

Guava Nexus has reached a point where the Minimum Viable Product needs a clearer product identity.

The current MVP has gradually become centered on one fundamental object: the Seed. A person can create a Seed, preserve successive committed Versions, return to earlier states, inspect what changed, record why a change was made, trace the limited lineage currently supported by the system, and independently inspect the public record.
This suggests that the current MVP may be best understood as the first operational expression of Seedbox.

This is not a restoration of the historical Seedbox architecture.
Earlier Seedbox concepts explored generational models, semantic organization, knowledge networks, scoring, economic mechanisms, and other structures. Those historical ideas remain historical unless separately reconsidered. The present definition refers only to the product that has actually emerged through Guava Nexus stabilization.

The proposed distinction

Guava Nexus is the underlying system for preserving durable intellectual records, authorship, Versions, provenance, and their permitted relationships.
Seedbox is the operational interface through which a person works with those records.
At its minimum, Seedbox should allow a person to:

CREATE → RETURN → CONTINUE → COMMIT → INSPECT → RETRIEVE

The important problem is therefore not merely whether an idea can be stored.
Many existing tools can store ideas.
The harder problem is whether a thought can remain sufficiently continuous, intelligible, and consequential that a person can return to it later without reconstructing its history from scattered notes, chats, documents, and applications.
I have experienced this fragmentation directly. Ideas have accumulated across Evernote, Obsidian, Notion, Substack, Skool, Google, Jenni AI, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, and other systems. Each has provided a useful capability, but no single place has become the durable operational home for the evolution of the thought itself.
The current Guava Nexus Seed model may provide the beginning of that home.
A Seed is not merely a saved note. Its committed states remain beside one another rather than replacing one another. A return therefore has a history.
A Seedbox is not merely a publishing interface. It is the place from which that history is created, resumed, deliberately changed, and later retrieved.

Relationship to the MVP hypothesis

This definition does not replace the current Guava Nexus MVP hypothesis.
The MVP hypothesis currently proposes that Guava Nexus changes behavior when a second party's reliance on a specific prior Version makes an author's record consequential on a dated occasion, causing further evolution:

CREATE → SECOND-PARTY RELIANCE → CONSEQUENCE → EVOLVE

Under this framing:
Seedbox is the product being tested.
The MVP hypothesis describes the behavioral mechanism being tested.
The Seed test remains the validation instrument.
Return behavior may still be useful evidence about whether Seedbox is personally useful, but repeated return alone does not prove the stronger second-party causal hypothesis.

Relationship to SeedCast

SeedCast is not the Seedbox.
SeedCast is a possible future AI application of Guava Nexus records.
Seedbox is concerned with operating on the intellectual record itself: creating, returning, continuing, committing, inspecting, and retrieving.
SeedCast is concerned with representing and transmitting those records for consumption through audio, conversational AI, or other media.
A useful separation is therefore:
Guava Nexus preserves the record.
Seedbox is where the record is worked with.
SeedCast is one way the record may later be consumed.

MVP boundary

Calling the current MVP Seedbox should not itself expand the MVP.
The first Seedbox does not require the historical generational model, semantic ranking, global knowledge graphs, SeedCast, governance, Treasury systems, fractionalization, or other later mechanisms.
The smallest credible Seedbox may still be one Seed.
The question is whether one meaningful evolving Seed can become a sufficiently durable operational object that its author can leave it, return later, understand where the thought stands, continue from that state, and deliberately create the next committed Version.
If that experience works, Guava Nexus has produced something more useful than a note archive while remaining much smaller than the larger system historically imagined.

Current founder proposition

The stabilized Guava Nexus MVP is provisionally the first Seedbox: an operational environment for creating, returning to, evolving, inspecting, and retrieving durable Seed records.

This is a founder hypothesis requiring historical and doctrinal reconciliation.
It does not restore prior Seedbox mechanisms by implication.
